Toy Drive, Club Superhero, and Poetry Slam, Marta Knight and Jordan Harrison: December Bus. Mtg.

Updated: Jul 1

December was a busy month for San Diego Rotaract. We completed our toy drive for Traveling Stories, got to name our Club Superhero who was recognized by our District Governor Marta Knight, and heard a spoken word poem from the very talented and bold Jordan Harrison, our Rotary Club 33 advisor.

In November we had the pleasure of welcoming CEO and Founder of Traveling Stories, Emily Moberly and began raising funds and individual donations for their prizes that children can choose from when they cash in their "book bucks". The collection was a huge success and we are excited to continue to collaborate with Emily and her team in the future.

Marta Knight shared a powerful message of hope and love through her testimony as a generational Rotarian. She also recognized a Club Hero who was selected by the club members. Sab Diego Rotaract selected our very deserving club hero, Brisa Bassett, current Director of Local Service and outstanding club member! Congratulations Brisa đź‘Ź

We ended off the meeting with some words from Jordan Harrison who reminded us about the tools that we have at our disposal and the tools that we can use to mentor and empower others. Thank you Jordan for your constant support of our club.
